Why do we need an Operating System (OS) in a personal computer anymore ?Why can’t we use a chat assistant as the only interface ?

The only interaction will be voice or keyboard and all the requests will be entered on the chat assistant. For eg., “email Sam about dinner at 8 pm”. The chat assistant will work in the background to open the email client, type in Sam’s email address and the message content and send it. While on the front end, the chat assistant will return a message, “email sent”.

It will require some configuration in the beginning to tell the chat assistant, which email client and contacts synchronization. After the initial configuration, the process will be automatic.

I understand this is easier said then done, however we have all the tools to execute and I believe this will be the future.
